Hey parents whats up ...
So
this week was interesting. On Monday we were in Horqueta, and it was pretty cool because there is a missionary couple that really wanted my companion to cook for them (because my comp was a chef in the marines before he came on his mission), and so went to their house and he cooked us dinner. It was so good. In Brazil, where my companion is from, they make a meal where they pressure cook black beans and they use garlic and other spices, and it was super good. Here in Paraguay, the people don't really use seasonings when they cook and so it was so nice to be able to eat something that had some flavor.
Tuesday we had our
district meeting where we talked about how we need to care more about our investigators, and how we need to use the Book of Mormon to be able to find out the needs of the people. It was actually pretty cool because we were able to apply the things we learned and we found a lot of ways to be able to ask people to get baptized through The Book of Mormon -- so that was super cool. We were actually able to put "fetchas" (baptismal date) with a bunch of people and that is cool. One of our fetchas is a guy named Carlos. He is super cool. He is the husband of a member and he went to church last Sunday (one week ago) and apparently he really wanted to go this Sunday (yesterday) but his child was so sick that neither of the parents came. He is super cool and we set his baptismal date for the 20th of August. We are really hoping that he will progress and be able to be baptized.
So the weather out here in Tacuati has been kind of yucky, it has been warm and humid.
We were already set back a bit on our goals going in to last week because we were traveling, but we worked hard and we were able to find five investigators in two days -- and that was super awesome. I am super stoked for the progress that we are making, life is really good in Tacuati right now. Even though I am in the middle of nowhere, it is a really good area. The members are really cool, they really love their missionaries.
Right now it's a sad moment as the member, the Hermana Sanguina (who is Facebook friends with mom), is going through a really hard time. Her brother passed away yesterday and it has been super hard on her. So my comp and I have been trying to help her because she does so
much for us. We are trying to do everything we can to give back to her, so we have been spending a lot of time with her.

So I read your message about college and I have been thinking a lot about it. One thing I have been doing is finding a way to use my Patriarchal Blessing to figure out where I need to be going and what I need to be doing. I feel like I am finding some answers, but I am not completely there yet, but I am working on it.
But ya, I love y'all so much, y'all are the best.
